Derayah LLPC (Saudilegal) advises employers and employees on a wide range of employment laws, regulations, proceedings and contracts including, amongst others, wrongful termination claims, misappropriations of intellectual property, violations of non-compete agreements, compensation disputes and other employment matters. A representative list of our expertise is set out below:
- We successfully defended a Saudi Arabian company in an action brought by its former chief executive officer for wrongful termination of his employment contract. Termination was based on the chief executive officer having conducted business with the company in breach of its conflict-of-interest policies.
- We successfully represented a composite pipe systems manufacturer in proceedings against former employees and their new employer for the misappropriation of proprietary intellectual property.
- We brought a successful action on behalf of a dairy company against a former employee who had breached a non-compete agreement, resulting in the deportation of the employee.
- In two separate cases, we successfully defended two former employees of a dairy company in claims filed by their former employer to uphold a non-compete clause in the employees’ previous employment contracts.
- We represent an international offshore services company in six claims brought by trainees employed by the company in connection with their training contracts.
- We successfully defended a pharmaceutical company in an action brought by a former employee who claimed to be entitled to a promotion in their last year of service.
- We successfully defended a pharmaceutical company in a case brought by a former employee who had previously worked for their local agent and was seeking compensation from our client for the period in which they were employed by the local agent.
- We successfully defended a renewable energy company in a case filed by a former employee for unpaid bonuses and lower than expected end-of-service benefits.
- We successfully defended an engineering company in a case filed by a former employee for amounts deducted from their salary for frequent work absences.
- We are representing a renewable energy company in a case filed by their former employee for an unpaid performance-linked bonus.
- We represented an employer in a dispute with a former employee that was unable to complete their required training. This case was amicably settled.
- We represented the former employee of a public research institute after he was dismissed from his post and made to sign a settlement and release agreement which afforded him a lower sum on termination than he was entitled to.
